Florida

Florida is a very unique state with it being a peninsula sticking out into the ocean. It has water on three of it’s sides. Being a Michigander, I understand what that feels like. Of course Michigan is surrounded by the Great Lakes where theres no salt, no sharks, and no worries while Florida has the salty ocean. Which is one of the many reasons I would like to go back.

The color of the water by Florida varies from the swampy, brown rivers to the bright blue and green ocean. The color of the water isn’t the only thing great about these beaches. The Atlantic waters are clear, the sand soft, and the sun glistening off the water is indescribable. I’ve never been to the Key West, islands right off the coast of Florida, and the beaches there sound absolutely beautiful everywhere I read. I’ve been in the ocean before so I’m not just looking for that ocean experience that’s so different from lakes, it’s the fact that I love swimming in the oceans because I get a different experience each time.

The waves are constantly changing form, bringing in new sand, rocks, and shells. Snorkeling in the Atlantic never gets old because there are always different scenery like different colored fish and coral. You never know when you’ll see a dolphin or sea turtle. If you love sea life, you’ll definitely need to visit Florida. If you’re not much of a swimmer or boater, there’s always Sea World in Orlando.

The main reason why I want to go back to Florida, is to go to Sea World before they no longer have Orca’s and to go to Disney World. I’ve been to Disney World three times and Disneyland in California once. Visiting both of these Disney parks was a great experience and while they are both great, Disney World has much more to offer. Disneyland sits on roughly 510 acres while Disney World sits on about 30,000 acres, so it makes sense the Disney World would be bigger and have more things to do and see.

Disney World is technically in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida which is near Orlando and Kissimmee. But most people just say Orlando. Disney World has different themes for the entire park for holidays such as Christmas and Halloween. If you love the idea of the whole park being themed, the best time to go is from around November 1st to November 9th. Last year, November 1st was the last day for the Halloween theme, and November 9th was the first day of the Christmas theme. My suggestion is to use these dates to plan your vacation to see both themes.

Disney World’s newest attractions include the Star Wars section, Pandora from the movie Avatar, and of course Toy Story Land which is all the rage right now. If you have a certain favorite Disney movie or favorite character, it’s best to research if there is something for that already in the park, if it’s new, or if they are planning on adding that. If it’s new, then you may want to wait until a time it is less crowded so you can be fully immersed in the attraction. If Disney is planning on building something for it, then wait for them to build it instead of going to early and then having to go back to see it.

Always try to include multiple events in order to save money. Just like waiting until they build the attraction their in the middle of right now instead of having to go back to see it, just see it all in one trip.

There are many different ticket options, hotel options, and the parks are open during different hours. The best thing to do is to just visit the site here and explore these options to see what best fits you.
